Project Inspiration: Spotted Owl Pillowcase

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Here’s a pillow case made from an Alexander Henry Spotted Owl print that Holly submitted to our Sew Modern sewing flickr pool

Now if I had a pillowcase like this when I was little, I’d probably be excited to go to bed at a decent hour. According to my parents, I was a night owl and rarely went down for the night before midnight.

My daughter is very much like her mama and goes to sleep around 11:30pm every night. She has been doing this since the day she was born and I’ve accepted the fact that I have a night owl child on my hands — no point trying to force her to be different.

I wonder if an owl pillowcase would help? Even if it’s just 15 minutes earlier a night I’d be happy. That way I could read a book. Like finish off the fourth book from the Twilight series! Any suggestions on how to make this happen? Just 15 minutes, that’s all I need!

Project Inspiration: Martha Stewart No Sew Tote Bag

Friday, January 29th, 2010

We got an email from Ashleigh in Guelph a few weeks about about a no sew project she made with some of our fabrics.

Perfect! An easy project to make when you don’t have too much time and if your skills aren’t that great (like me).

Here’s the link from Martha Stewart’s website.

Thanks Ashleigh! Anyone else have some easy fun  no sew projects to recommend? Time is of the essence when an active toddler is around :)

Have a great weekend!
