It was a little over a year ago that I met Alexandria and Lindsay online. They are two of the kindest online friends a gal could ask for. And did I mention, they are very talented too?
Clippopotamus was started in 2008 as a hair clip company while Alexandria was on maternity leave with her daughter Story. Fast forward 2 years and one child later, Clippopotamus now offers products for girls and boys and Vanessa was brought on board to help with production.
My daughter is the proud owner of 6 Clippo clips and a pair of mitt clips. So if you ever see a girl running around the city with 6 clips in her hair (yup, she requests all of them to be worn at once), you know it’s my daughter!
Grace Announcements was started in 2005 by Lindsay and offers custom invitations, cards and wall 
art. You may have seen some of Lindsay’s work with your fabric orders – she designed postcards for Pink Panda Fabrics a while back.
My daughter has had this elephant print hanging in her room since she was 9 months old. Needless to say, the word “elephant” was one of her first words (right after “more”, “cheese”, “Mom” and “Dad”)
On Friday June 25, 2010, one lucky person will receive a gift certificate to all 3 stores:

We are having a stay at home summer. The whole family is going on a big trip this fall. So this summer will be about Home. The backyard, good food, family and fun in the splash pool. The kids (5yrs, 2.5yrs and 11months) will be helping with the raised beds and getting involved in their first harvest. I am trying to get them involved as much as possible this year in the garden. They’ve shown a real interest in the plants, the bugs, the dirt. The whole shebang! Bring on summer! I’m really looking forward to it!

This summer, I will be working on my own surface design collection for Millipede Design. In other words, this will be a working summer. Any travel will be done by way of reading travel novels which isn’t so bad if I can’t get away for my own adventure. I will partake in many lounging hours on the roof deck looking over the Vancouver’s downtown at sunset. It makes a working summer all that more tolerable! Let’s hope for many sunny days!
Our family will be going camping at Bon Echo for 10 nights at the end of July, beginning of August. Please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed, as the last time we camped there 2 years ago we pitched our tent in the rain, went and got pizza for dinner, and came back to find our tent had leaked all over the kids bedding. The next day we packed up and went home (and I’m a seasoned camper who doesn’t give up easily). That was the most expensive pizza we have ever had!

We are (most likely) staying home this summer. We are hoping to buy a bbq and finally enjoy the backyard of our new house with friends and family and lots of good food!
I’ll be taking the kids to visit friends in Calgary for 2 weeks and coincidentally will be there for Stampede as it is late this year. eek! Then, it’s camps and some relaxing, then a road trip to Cape Cod in late August. Never been, and really looking forward to it. School break has started already, so I’ve made the dreaded Costco stock the fridge run with kid stuff. I hope it’s not too hot this summer.

This summer my son is doing an online class and then it will almost be time to go back since school is starting 2 weeks earlier with a balanced year schedule. We’re just doing around town things, the art museum, checking out galleries, lunch and watching movies. We’re good with that right now.
We are having a lovely staycation this year!

We’ve taken our vacation already, and now we’re going to stay home for the rest of the summer. But there will be many trips to the beach, for sure!

I am fortunate to be a work from home Mom, which means I get to spend the whole summer with my boys’! We are going to do as much camping as we possibly can, spend our days at the local pool, join a reading club at the local library and just spend time outside! Looking forward to it, as today is their last day of school!

We are hopng to just stay in town (Vancouver) and explore parts of the city we’ve never been to. Like the bird sanctuary wetlands which I discovered is only about 15 away from where we live. Who knew?! Also, lots of sewing for me. I’m hoping to get an early start on my Christmas gift making.
