Ok this post has nothing to do with sewing, fabric or anything of that sort — sorry for the lack of getting to know you (and me) updates — I really like writing those.
So for the past few weeks, I’ve been hooked on a little show called Glee - a one hour musical comedy about a highschool glee club. Have you seen it?!
At first when I saw the promos, I was thinking “Oh another show about teenage drama, I’m dating him and then I’m gonna date his best friend” but I watched the first episode and was HOOKED!
So hooked that I even watch the episodes over and over again making good use of the “On Demand” channel we have. They didn’t have a new episode for several weeks (I think because of sports? I don’t know — I don’t watch sports finals very often) and I was quite bummed and anxious to see what’s next for the Glee Club.
Saw the episode yesterday and loved the song selection (I’m secretly hoping that one day they’ll do an NKOTB song - HA!). I’m so torn — I love both Finn and Puck and I keep trying to figure out if I were a teenager and still in highschool, who would I like more. Every episode I watch I keep flipping back and forth. Not that this decision needs to be made — I’m married and my husband asked this morning “Wouldn’t you like me if you knew me in highschool?” LOL! (I didn’t meet him in highschool so who knows what would’ve happened)
The directors did a great job with all the actors that were cast. I love all of them — the principal has the funniest lines, Sue (coach of the Cheerios) has the snarkiest comebacks, Emma (the germ fearing counsellor) has the best wardrobe (I like all that vintage/50s look although I don’t wear those pieces myself), and Will Schuester (head of McKinley’s Glee Club) sure can dance!
Any other diehard Glee fans out there?

Cheryl! We really were “cut from the same fabric”! I have been watching Glee and love everything musical. Puckerton is my pick. I’ve always been the “bad boy” fan (i.e. Pacey Whitter) even though I’m married to the biggest “good guy” in the world. And if they ever do an NKOTB song, I think I will lose it. that would be so fantastic!!! I am maybe 2 episodes behind, but will soon catch up!
Kelly — are you an NKOTB lover too? HA HA HA! I went to both their concerts this year and could not get enough (Jordan fan right here!).
The day Glee does an NKOTB song I think I will be laughing my head off. Did you see the episode when they formed a boy band and did a Color Me Badd song? Oh I was loving that too and singing along!
It’s too good. I look forward to that show every week.
And so far no one is voting for Finn. I love Puck’s character (and Pacey too — never a Dawson fan). I did end up marrying a Finn though. I think most women do.
hmmm… i have recorded GLEE and it’s sitting on my PVR waiting to be watched. I think i will watch it today!!
I mean, how can a fellow melrose place lover be wrong??
Awesome! I Ha! I LOVE this show! I am so happy that you love it too! I came across it by accident back in May. I was sewing one night and the television was on in the background. The program that I was watching had ended and Glee came on, just as I was about to change the channel. I had no idea what it was… It was not until I caught some incredibly sarcastic and biting remark from Sue that I stopped was I was doing to pay attention. For the next 45 minutes, I was laughing.
I think FOX had aired it as a teaser in the Spring, indicating that it was coming soon this Fall. After that first episode, I made it a point to watch the show. My teen-aged niece and I have our Glee Night every Wednesday. She had never heard of it, but I kept telling her how much she would love it. She has already established her favourite characters (Kurt, Finn, Emma…) She will be getting the Music CD’s (volume 1 and 2) in her stocking this xmas for sure! We are hooked.
I am cheering for Finn, just because he is so darn sweet and boy-next-door. Hopefully, he will discover Quinn for the cheating tart that she really is. Oh, and I desperately wish Emma and Will were together, but I suppose it won’t happen for a few seasons…gotta keep the viewers hooked and hoping, right?
Great minds think alike!
=)
Jozen, let me know what you think! I hope you’ll like it (not as dramatic as Melrose that’s for sure LOL)
Anica, what a great way to spend a Wednesday night! I totally agree that Finn needs to find out about Quinn and Emma and Will have to be together. You’re right… it has to be a few more seasons before those things happen. Else what else would the writers write about? HAHA
